Busyness As Usual

Busyness As Usual -

One of the main things I hear at Float Horizen is, "I'd love to float more, but I'm just too busy."

I get it. Life is moving fast. Money is changing hands. The world never slows down.

But you can.

I can.

And we must.

In case you haven't noticed, the world is on fire. Most of our bodies are suffering with inflammation and chronic stress.

We are too busy.

The kids are taking notice.

People are suffering.

We're all sick and tired of pushing ourselves past the breaking point. And for what?

The average busy adult doesn't seem to notice that busyness as usual is not sustainable.

It's hurting us and we need to recognize the urgent need for change.

When people say, "I can't afford to float" I say, "How can you afford not to float?"

As I learn and relearn self-care, everything else in my life improves exponentially.

My relationships improve. My health improves. Even my bank account has improved. How does that happen? Self-care saves you both money and time in the long run.

Because you learn to hone in on what actually matters and you begin dropping what doesn't.

You start to appreciate how little you actually need to be happy, feel good, and love your life.

It takes courage to slow down.

It takes courage to embrace rest in a world addicted to work.

By never stopping, resting, relaxing, (having a drink is not relaxing btw) we are effectively telling nature and our bodies (and our kids and grandkids and their tired little bodies) "not now, we'll see about you later."

There is no more later. This is it.

It's now or never.

Make downtime a priority.

Make a point to learn and relearn the art of self-care.

Say NO to busyness as usual.

Floating offers the perfect environment for safe and effective detox from overstimulation and infotainment overload.

Turn off the phone, the notifications, the thoughts, the mind.

Relax and just be, remembering that all is well.

Take the first step today.

Admit that life cannot change until I change.

Watch what happens to the world around you when you make time for the WORLD WITHIN YOU.

Try a float.

Learn to meditate.

Turn off all your devices and breathe.

Try to float once a week for a month or two.

See what happens.

What do you have to lose?

Buoyantly,

Carey Ott
